Brass badge souvenir from San Francisco's 1898 Golden Jubilee celebration, marking the 50th anniversary of the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill that sparked the California Gold Rush in 1848. 1 3/8 x 2 1/4" badge is generally excellent with typical light brass tarnishing. Reverse identifies Schwaab Stamp and Seal Company of Milwaukee as the maker.
