Typed letter hand-signed by California Democratic National Committeewoman Helen Gahagan thanking a supporter for her "...assistance in the reelection of President Roosevelt", and dated shortly after the 1940 presidential election. Four years later, Helen Gahagan (Douglas) would be elected as a Congresswoman from California, and would lose to Richard Nixon in the 1950 California senatorial campaign. 7 1/4 x 10 5/8", in excellent condition.
