GEO. D. BARNARD & CO. tin/cast iron cylinder ballot box

Tin barrel-style ballot box with cast iron lid and hinges, circa 1880, manufactured by the Geo. D. Barnard Co. in St. Louis. The barrel itself is 12 1/2" diameter, 14 1/2" long. Typical scattered scuffs from use, but the stenciled lettering is intact and readable. A terrific display piece for a general 19th century political collection.
