DON'T BE A MAVERICK. PRESIDENTIAL ROUNDUP NOV. 8 1904SKU 06563E
Pinback button promoting Theodore Roosevelt for president, 1904. 7/8" cello in excellent condition with a VAN DERSAL & GOUGH / Whitehead & Hoag Co. backpaper. "Maverick" refers to an unbranded calf, and the use of the word on this pinback suggests voters should "stick with the (TR) brand". The brands on the steer are not random, but rather were the brands used by TR at his North Dakota ranches: the Maltese cross from his Chimney Butte Ranch, and the horn and triangle from his Elkhorn Ranch.
