White metal token suspended from brass shield badge promoting Ulysses S. Grant for president, 1872.  1 x 2 1/4", in VF condition with light pitting.  Reverse of token reads: PATIENT OF TOIL / SERENE ADMIDST ALARMS, / INFLEXIBLE IN FAITH / INVINCIBLE IN ARMS. (DeWitt #USG 1872-11).
