According to an article in the Kennedy Political Item Collectors newsletter, this badge is from the first organizational meeting for OPERATION KENNEDY held at the Kennedy family Palm Beach home on April 1, 1959. Those in attendance included Joseph P. Kennedy, JFK,
RFK and many other Democratic operatives. The article concludes: "...on October 28, 1959, plans were officially launched for 'Operation Kennedy' - the campaign to put JFK in the White House. VERY early (and perhaps the first) Kennedy for President campaign item issued. Very rare and in excellent condition.
