GRAND National Inauguration Ball, March Fourth 1857

Invitation to the Inauguration of President James Buchanan and Vice President John Breckenridge (sic), 1857. 7 x 10 1/4". There is a crease below JNO. BRECKENRIDGE, but this rare invitation is in otherwise bright, excellent condition, and issued to a "Miss Mary Eliza Clements". Beautifully printed by Toppan Carpenter & Co. Philadelphia, on coated "enamel" stock.
