Ferrotype stickpin promoting Ulysses S. Grant for president, 1868. Tintype enclosed in a 22 1/2 mm. brass frame with purple and blue paper borders. VERY minor chipping along the edges of the purple paper. There is some "waviness" on the surface of the tintype (as made) which can only be seen when held at an angle.
