Description
Complete set of three 33 1/3 RPM records promoting Adlai Stevenson for president and John Sparkman for vice president, 1952. Includes an 8 1/2 x 11" letterhead from Harry Lerner and Associates, a public relations firm working for the Stevenson campaign, and addressed to the County Chairman of VOLUNTEERS FOR STEVENSON describing the contents of one of the included records, which includes "thirteen one-minute spot announcements, recorded in Governor Adlai Stevenson's own voice" and a "15-minute Hollywood dramatic production entitled "Three Strangers", in support of Stevenson's candidacy." The letter further states that the campaign is "without sufficient funds" to buy radio time, and appeals to the local headquarters to raise said funds independently and schedule broadcasts "for the final four days of the campaign." Pressed in translucent red vinyl and housed in their original paper sleeves, all three appear to be untouched and in excellent condition.
