Description
Silk ribbon promoting James G. Blaine for president, 1884. Tipped-in oval albumen portrait of Blaine. Large 3 7/8 x 8" with red, silver & blue hot-stamped graphics of a patriotic shield flanked by American flags, an eagle above, a sailing ship at left and a locomotive at right. This does exhibit some minor aging and there are several horizontal pulls in the top half of the fabric, the most noticeable in the center of the ribbon. Unusual, rare variety.
