Description
Paper poster celebrating the "Inauguration" of President-in-exile Dick Gregory, 1969. 17 1/2 x 22 1/2", in excellent condition. "Mug-shots" of the 1968 Peace & Freedom Party / New Party presidential candidate wearing a peace symbol badge. Gregory proposed to build an "exile government" to further "the politics of participation" and announced plans for a March 4 Inauguration complete with an inaugural address, parade and "possibly" a ball, followed by a "State of the Union" address. A terrific, rare poster produced after the contentious 1968 presidential campaign.
