Enamel on brass pin issued by the Polish Women's Alliance of America, circa 1900-1915. 3/4 x 1", in excellent condition and stamped on the reverse: GREEDUCK CO. GOLD FILLED CHICAGO. The founders of the Polish Women's Alliance promoted many women's issues including: the right to pursue higher education, the right to enter many professions, and the right to purchase life insurance in their own names. Founder Stefania Chmielinska was vocal in her belief that women deserved equality, self-sufficiency, and financial stability.
