Pinback button disparaging Harold Stassen, 1956. 2 1/4" litho in excellent condition. Stassen led the "dump Nixon" movement at the 1956 Republican National Convention in San Francisco by encouraging delegates to exercise their right to choose a vice presidential candidate other than Richard Nixon - Stassen favored Massachusetts Governor Christian Herter for the 1956 VP nomination. These scarce buttons were distributed at the RNC in response to Stassen rocking the boat at what was otherwise a relatively mild and straightforward Convention.
