Description
Tin campaign torch, c. 1888. Similar to design as Figure 71 in Collins' POLITICAL CAMPAIGN TORCHES book. This torch is of simple construction featuring a rounded fuel reservoir, a screw off burner, and a swivel supporting device of thick wire that allows the burner to remain upright. Reservoir measures 5 x 4" overall. Light rust and denting to the reservoir. Remnants of the pole remain, but have been somewhat crudely shortened what appears to have been fairly recently, probably for display purposes.
