Cotton fragment from a larger fabric entitled "The Apotheosis of Franklin", 1785. The full fabric example shows Washington driving a leopard-drawn chariot. This fragment shows Benjamin Franklin and an image of Miss Liberty holding a Liberty Cap pole. The 8 x 13 1/2" fragment has been stitched to a larger, early cheese cloth backing measuring 13 x 19 1/2". Very early and historical, but priced as is.
