WILLKIE Train PARTY Tag

Stringed luggage tag from the Willkie Special campaign train, 1940. 3 1/8 x 6 1/4", cardstock, in excellent condition. First time I've seen this unusual and scarce luggage tag, which was used aboard the Willkie Train which left from Rushville, Indiana, in September of 1940. The train excursion lasted seven weeks and went through 31 states in the West and Midwest. Willike's staff and press reporters occupied 12 cars that contained dining, lounging and sleeping compartments.
